Bringing Specialist Healthcare Closer to Himalayan Communities

Post-Event Report | 11 October 2026

Uttarayana Faith Foundation, in collaboration with National Heart Institute, New Delhi, organised a specialist OPD on 11 October 2026 at Uttarayana Hospital, near Kila Chand, Papersahily, Almora. The programme provided expert consultations and follow-up care to more than 50 patients from Almora and surrounding communities. Dr. O. P. Yadava, CEO & Chief Cardiac Surgeon, provided cardiac assessments, surgical advice and follow-up consultations. Dr. K. P. Kuniyal, Senior General Surgeon, assessed patients with gallbladder stones and other general surgical concerns. The initiative addressed barriers of distance and affordability by bringing specialist care closer to underserved Himalayan communities and supporting timely assessment and treatment advice.

Our Commitment to Community Health:

Periodic specialist OPDs are planned to improve local access, support continued patient follow-up and facilitate referrals for further treatment. We welcome CSR partnerships to sustain and expand specialist outreach, essential diagnostic services and access to treatment for economically disadvantaged patients.
