Endocrinology is a superspeciality of Internal Medicine dealing with the disorders affecting the quality of life of a human being starting from the womb encompassing childhood, adolescence, adulthood and the healthy ageing. Various endocrine glands in the body starting from the Pituitary, Hypothalamus, Thyroid, Parathyroid, Pancreas, Adrenals , the testes and ovaries etc have different physiological functions and any perturbation in their hormones lead to development of various diseases and decrease the longevity of human being. “Obesity and Diabetes Mellitus” have been the heart of Endocrinology for decades. The management of these disorders have undergone a major change with the advent of Artificial Intelligence(AI), Genetic testing and Precision Medicine.
