Total PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) Test is a blood test that measures the level of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in the blood. PSA is a protein produced mainly by the prostate gland.
The test is commonly used to: Screen for or assess the risk of prostate cancer, together with age, symptoms, examination, and other risk factors.
Evaluate prostate-related symptoms such as difficulty or frequent urination. Monitor patients who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer or are undergoing treatment. Help assess conditions such as benign prostatic enlargement (BPH) or prostatitis.
