Dr. Kalra completed his MBBS and MD from Mumbai and earned his DM in Nephrology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi in 2003. He subsequently served as a Senior Research Associate in the Department of Nephrology at AIIMS, with research focused on post-renal transplant pulmonary infections and cardiorenal syndrome.

With over 25 years of clinical experience, Dr. Kalra is a highly accomplished nephrologist specializing in interventional nephrology, renal transplantation, and advanced kidney care. He has successfully performed 800+ kidney transplants, with particular expertise in ABO-incompatible kidney transplantation and highly sensitized transplant recipients. He has also played a key role in establishing dialysis units and renal transplant programs across leading healthcare institutions in North India.

An active academician, Dr. Kalra has delivered numerous presentations at national conferences, authored 35+ publications in national and international journals, and contributed chapters to medical textbooks. He is a regular invited speaker, scientific session chair, and educator, actively involved in DNB (Medicine and Family Medicine) teaching and postgraduate thesis guidance.

Dr. Kalra has served as Senior Consultant at Rockland Hospital (2005–2009) and later at Fortis Vasant Kunj and Fortis Escorts Heart Institute (2009–2014). He is currently Additional Director, Department of Nephrology & Renal Transplant at National Heart Institute, East of Kailash, and Aakash Healthcare Super Speciality Hospital, Dwarka. Since 2009, he has also been associated as an Advisor and Consultant with DCDC Kidney Care, where he has led the establishment of quality, affordable dialysis centers across North India.
